My up-cycled bench obsession

Hey guys this is Jodi. Happy Friday!

Today I thought I'd share my obsession with up-cycled benches with you.

Ever since making my first bench from an old headboard I've been hooked.

To tell you the truth it was really hard to let go lol. I loved the carved detail.

The lady who bought this got it for her daughters wedding reception as their seats for dinner. Then they can use it in their home afterwards!

Each bench has so much personality and is so unique.

I love seeing them transform as you work on them.

I covered the back in super cute fabric which made this bench pop. I adore the carved scroll work too!

The best in my opinion is if you can find a headboard and foot-board to use on the bench.

You can take the foot-board and cut it in half and use it for the sides. It ties it in really nicely!

This bench was made from my daughters old set. I think it turned out so fun!

I love seeing the benches on peoples front porches. It's so inviting and just screams to me to come sit awhile and relax.

This set was made from an old antique bed set. My friend and neighbor bought it from me, and every time I drive by her house it makes me smile!

Any size headboard will work.

I love working with real wood ones. They'll last forever and they are super sturdy.

Sometimes it's fun to paint them in a super bright color to make it stand out on your porch.

So those are just a few of the ones I've done, and I see many more in my future...(like I said obsessed!)

If you're wanting one of these beauties for you own home, let me know. I'd love to make you one!

  1. I've been looking for a bench forever, but haven't been able to find one I like at a reasonable price. Are you able to build benches from a picture?

    1. Send me a picture and I'll see! Thanks~
