Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! When I think of holidays and get together's I think of yummy food. One of my families favorite meals is Hawaiian Curry. So I thought I would share the recipe with you!
Ingredients for sauce:
1 Large can of Cream of mushroom soup (family size)
3/4 can of tomato sauce
1 to 2 TBSP of Curry powder (depending on hot you like it)
2 lbs of ground hamburger
Cook the hamburger and drain the grease. Add the soup and tomato sauce and curry powder. You can add water to make it a good consistancy. Cook till it is boiling and then reduce heat to low and it's ready to serve. (Some of my family also likes to cook it with onions).
We always use Calrose Rice or Jasmine Rice to put the curry on. If you use a rice cooker I cook 4 cups rice with 6 cups of water.
For the condiments we use
2-3 boiled eggs diced
1 can of olives chopped
1 can crushed pineapple
1 pkg crumbled real bacon
1 cup of raisins
1 cup chopped peanuts
1 cup coconut
Some people like chutney on their curry and some people prefer diced apples instead of pineapple.
Take a big plate of rice
Add Curry sauce
Add your condiments
And Enjoy! This is cooked at least 2 times a month because my kids love it! Give it a try and let me know what you think! ~Jodi
