Old Door Back Drop for Boutiques

If you like what you see here be sure to check out our 24/7 Online Boutique Reclaim-ologists and Other Crafty Chicks!

Hi!  Alese here!  One of the crafters from Reclaim-ologists and Other Crafty Chicks and Creative Blogger at 2 Crafty 4 My Skirt.
You have heard about our upcoming boutique right!?

It will be the "Event of the Season"  Make sure you don't miss it!

I have done a few boutique and I want to show you what I came up with for a backdrop for my booth.

Our home is about 100 years old, and when we moved in, one of the sheds had a stack of a whole bunch of old doors from the house!  SCORE!  I thought that would be a cool back drop for craft fairs!

This is what it looked like the first craft fair I used them at.  I hoped that the doors would attract a lot of traffic into my booth, but it didn't bring as much as I hoped it would. And I didn't love how it looked as much as I thought it would.

After being disappointed with how the doors looked, I spent a little time looking at the above picture and trying to decide what I could do to make my booth space look better.  I decided I should paint the doors bright colors!

Some of the doors were in pretty rough shape, but nothing a little sanding couldn't fix.

I love them SO MUCH more now!

Now I just need to work on the rest of my booth!
Here is how we got the doors to stand up.  Along the base there are 2x6's. They have holes drilled in them.  The doors also have holes drilled in the bottom, and we use dowels to match them together.

At the top between each door there is one of these hooks. And that is enough to hold them stable.

I will being sharing a booth with my sister-in-law Kortnie who is also a member of our group. Be sure to find us where you see these blue and red doors!
Here are just a few of the fun things you will find in our booth!
