Ways to up-cycle an old window

Hi I'm Jodi Gallagher and I'm one of the crafters at Reclaim-ologists And Other Crafty Chicks. I have an obsession with old wood windows. I buy them up whenever I find them, no matter how many I already have. So I thought I'd share some of my favorite ways to up-cycle them.

First I made this calender/chalkboard. Super easy and so much fun. I first taped off half of it and sprayed on chalkboard spray paint. I did 3 coats. Then I added a piece of trim in the middle. Next I added vinyl lettering to the top.
Going with the theme of chalkboards, next is a menu board I made. Same idea, tape and paint with chalkboard paint. It had a horrible blue paint job around the edges, so I painted it burgundy to match my house better. You could do this in any size. You could also add vinyl lettering for the days of the week instead of writing them.
Tables are a fun way to up-cycle a window too. I love this one that my husband and I built. We used old spindles from a staircase for the legs and braces and added trim to the edges. You could also make it into a shadow box table too.
Add vinyl lettering and some berries and you can have fun wall decor. I've made some for clients with their names and year established on it. Possibilities are endless on this one!

Just use a window for a good ole picture frame or cute decoration. Easy but fun to have something different from the norm.
