Lucy's Vintage Creations with ROCC

Hi there!  It's Jill from Lucy's Vintage Creations....I just joined ROCC about a month ago and it has been a lot of fun!  We are having our Spring Fling on May 2nd which I am soo......excited about.  It will be my very first show.  I'm a little nervous but so excited to show my stuff. Today I just want to give a little preview of some of the reclaimed treasures that I have been refinishing.  This has been such an exciting venture for me!  I have went from working as Dental Hygienist to being a furniture refinisher.  What a change, but it has been a good one!  I love being home with my family.   So here's just a peek of the things I have been refinishing the last few months.....

A custom vanity for a lucky little girl for christmas!
Beautiful buttermilk solid wood desk.
This is one of my favorites.  Little three drawer vintage dresser.
Love doing these vanities!  They have been very popular.
Bright red entry table.  I wanted to keep this one!
This piece is very special to me!  This is a custom piece I refinished for my niece. It is in her baby's room.  However, it was my great grandmothers and her great great grandmothers and will soon be her baby's great great great grandmothers vanity.  I love pink!!!!
Another beautiful vanity in Annie Sloan's duck egg blue.  It finished so nice!  Just elegant!
This bright red dresser is still available!!! Isn't it just cute!  I love the chunky gold knobs.  This one might be at the Spring Fling.
Ok so this beautiful buffet is gorgeous!  The picture just doesn't do it justice!  I would love to keep this piece but just don't have the room.  This may be at the Spring Fling Too!

After: 💕

Some lucky little girl received this "pink soap" vanity and jewelry armoire!  Her mom said she was soo....excited!

Winter Fleaology With ROCC Friends

Hi all, its Paula of Flea.o.logy, here to share my latest blog post from My blog.

Here is your promised peek into fleaolgy.

The first three photos are of my booth!  I sold all but three of these globes!
          This one is Jennine's booth

These two photos are of Keith's booth.

We had Pyrex piled high!

This one is Carla and Sherry's

How cute are the Flamingos in Denise's booth. She's with Two Old Crows!

 This is Joanne's booth!

It's always fun to see other dealers I associate with, like these girls from the Reclaimologists, Jamie
and Denise.

More reclaimologists, past and present, Shannon,Jeff and Mandy.

Here we have Angie and Mark... Angie is 'the American Homemaker'  and Mark is one of the Old Crows!  If this photo had a sound track you'd be hearing "we are not married" over and over.  Still we've all begun to feel like family
Kathy of Utah weddings, catered our event and had her son run the photo booth...  He was pretty done by the end of the show!
I just thought you might like to see some of the goodies I collected for myself at the show!!!  Fleaology is great for the collection of goodies AND great memories.

I'd also like to thank my followers who came by and said hi!

In August 2013 I blogged about my father-In-law's house that we had to tear down, see here:

Funeral for a Friend

Now I can re-Blog an update on that property!

Ralph Hitchcock's original historic home
Before

During Demolition

The New and Improved version
After

Ralph repurposed architectural pieces back into the new house

we learned this piece over the windows was called a pediment
shown here used inside the new sunroom

Because the brick was unfired, it was reused on places protected from the elements like the porch and
interior walls of the sunroom

Unused brick was sold to a local brick mason
to be used in the new
Provo City Center Temple

These two pieces are now in the new stairway
they were salvaged from the
Springville South Main street
chapel that was destroyed by fire
Ralph had been an LDS Bishop there

You may recognize some of these reused and reclaimed things from the old house

Mormon Oak mirror - Reading Chair Throne - Built In cabinet

On the fridge in Ralph's house is a note, typed by his mother on her old typewriter from her house in Buhl, Idaho:
"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without."
These are words he believes and obviously lives by.

Ralph reads to one of the Lads

It was unfortunate to lose a historic part of the community, but fun to rebuild a home that is now a tribute to the old with many old things made new again!

Thanks for Letting me share.
You'll find my crazy brand of
reclaimology at the Rusty Ranch
in Spanish Fork.
